Global Enrichment Grants

At the John Martinson Honors College, we value international experiences and cross-cultural exchanges. We acknowledge that not all students can study away - owing to financial costs, jobs, internships, and other responsibilities or obstacles. Thus, we seek to make opportunities for experiential learning accessible to all our students.

Where will the JMHC take you?! It is the John Martinson Honors College’s (JMHC) mission to help you sustain the spark that has ignited your curiosity for difference and novel opportunities. The Study Away Global Enrichment Grant supports experiential learning for students in the JMHC. In particular, the Grant helps students improve their global and intercultural learning through immersive experiences across the United States or abroad.

Applications for Study Away Global Enrichment Grants are reviewed twice each academic year. Deadlines for applying for this grant are October 15 and February 1.

To be eligible for the Study Away Global Enrichment Grant, students must be accepted to a JMHC-sponsored study away program. Applicants must also be in good standing in the JMHC and have a minimum of two semesters of study at Purdue remaining after the study away program ends.

Should you have any questions about this grant, please contact Dr. Nathan Swanson at swanso64@purdue.edu.

Upon completion of their study away experience, recipients of the Study Away Global Enrichment Grant are expected to disseminate about the experience within the two semesters following the experience. Avenues for dissemination include (but are not restricted to):
