HEalth Ambassadors with the LPII (HEAL)

The Interdisciplinary Research Generator (IRG) HEalth Ambassadors with the LPII (LPII stands for Lilly Purdue Innovation Institute) is a community of practice of students, faculty, and staff interested in the pharmaceutical industry challenge of developing effective and affordable therapeutics to tackle the diseases that currently affect large portions of the world population from cancer to Alzheimer, to diabetes, and many more.

Together we will:

  • Generate ideas through:
    • Brainstorming sessions
    • Faculty/graduate student talks and roundtables
    • Lilly partner roundtables
  • Develop our professional skills with:
    • Site visits to Lilly
    • LPII lab-crawl
    • Seminars
    • Mingle events with professionals (academic and industry – LPII grad students at Purdue and former LPII grad students who are now Lilly employees)
  • Work on research projects:
    • Directed by LPII faculty - paths to complete scholarly projects

What it means to be an affiliate

All HEAL affiliates will be onboarded at the LPII at the beginning of each semester and will receive all communications regarding idea generation and professional development activities, research opportunities, and other news of relevance to this community of practice.

  • All new affiliates will join HEAL at Level 1
  • The LPII will approve participation at each of the two levels

Affiliate Levels

All HEAL affiliates are members of the larger LPII undergraduate community.  As LPII members, HEAL affiliates will have the opportunity to participate in educational, experiential and soft-skill development activities, and will receive communications regarding research opportunities with LPII faculty and industry experiences.

LPII membership requirements (program dependent) need to be fulfilled every semester to remain a HEAL affiliate.

How to join:

Attend the HEAL Callout at the beginning of the academic year to learn more about this research generator and to meet current HEAL affiliates. Not to miss it, keep an eye on your email, JMHC news and fliers.

Below are the paths you can take to join LPII to become a HEAL affiliate for the first time – opportunities will be available to move to different LPII paths/programs in consequent semesters. Choose your path to join the HEAL community.
