Current Purdue Students

The Purdue John Martinson Honors College is a residential college that seeks to educate the whole student and to bridge the gap between curricular and extracurricular learning. The John Martinson Honors College hopes to draw curious, motivated and dedicated students who want to be a part of a diverse community of scholars.

If you are interested in joining the John Martinson Honors College, you are encouraged to enroll in HONR courses. The only requirement to take these courses is a 3.0 GPA, so you do not need to be officially accepted as an Honors student to register. This can help you get a feel for the curriculum and make a decision on whether or not you would like to apply to join.

Selection Criteria

  • Students must have at least four semesters of study remaining at the Purdue West Lafayette campus to be able to complete all requirements.
  • Students must have a 3.3 cumulative GPA or higher.
  • The following must be included with your application:
    • Short essay questions
    • A projected plan of study that shows how you will incorporate the Honors College curriculum into your remaining semesters.
    • We strongly recommend that you draft a plan prior to starting your application. Click here to download a template.
